Safety is our number one priority
Outlook engages a vast network of safety and support services worldwide to ensure our teams are in the best hands at all times. As a result, our safety record is impeccable. Here's how we keep our teams safe;
- 24-hour UK-based Operations Room, providing support and back up to our Leaders and teams in-country, including on call Duty Directors, a Designated Safeguarding Lead and robust safeguarding procedures.
- Our Expedition Leaders are highly qualified and experienced
- Teams will carry the latest satellite phones with GPS
- Our in-country partners are thoroughly vetted to ensure the highest possible standards
- Constant monitoring of UK Government FCDO advice for all our destinations (before and during)
- We operate world-class safety systems and procedures to maintain the highest possible standards at all times
- All our destinations and itinerary elements are recce'd in advance by experienced leaders, who assess both safety and safeguarding aspects of the activities the teams will undertake.
We are also supported by a comprehensive network of support services and are fully compliant and accredited with all national governing bodies.
Our Network
- Remote Medical Support - provides 24/7 medical advice anywhere in the world
- Campbell Irvine oversees all medical care (including specialist transportation)
- We encourage families to refer to the Travel Health Pro website for destination-specific inoculation advice
Accreditations
Outlook holds the following industry accreditations and certifications:
- Fully compliant with the British Standards Institution (BSI) 8848: a specification for adventurous activities, expeditions, visit and fieldwork outside the UK
- ATOL Certificate 6679 - providing financial protection on all flights and trips booked through Outlook
- Learning Outside the Classroom Quality Badge - awarded to providers who have been independently assessed against strict criteria including effective risk management
- Full membership and one of the founding members of the Expedition Providers' Association (EPA)
- Licensed by the Adventure Activities Licensing Authority (AALA) to provide outdoor adventure activities to young people under 18 years in the UK
- As an Approved Activity Provider (AAP) for DofE, some of our expeditions can count towards the achievement of your DofE Award
School & Teacher Support
A DBS-checked School Expedition Consultant will help to successfully launch your Expedition in your school.
Once an expedition has gone Live, a DBS-checked Programme Manager will be continually available to provide help and support throughout the entire expedition Programme.
