Hosted by Outlook & Hugo Metcalfe - Psychologist & Wellbeing Expert
An experienced Psychologist & Facilitator, Hugo has designed and delivered evidence-based training programs across the globe. In his pursuit of greater awareness, he felt it prudent to study every type of psychology going. This included Forensic Psychology, Clinical Psychology, Research Psychology and more recently Psychotherapy. He is a regular keynote speaker on the topic of personal resilience, young people’s mental health and cultivating wellbeing cultures. In fact, he loves the topic of wellbeing cultures so much he is currently writing a book about it.
He combines this breadth of knowledge with over 16 years’ experience working in the field of mental health and wellbeing, in the NHS and private sector with both Adults & Young People. A multiple world record holder and expedition leader, Hugo spends his free time putting his own resilience to the test, leading solo and group expeditions overseas.
This hour-long session will explore proactive ideas on how to promote positive wellbeing for all team members who are travelling and their parent / guardians pre, during and post Expedition/ Explore trip.

Anna Gibson from Easyfundraising has years of experience supporting students to self-fund the finances for their expeditions. Anna herself has been on Expeditions with teams and understands the value of them for students and therefore strives to give this opportunity to as many students as possible.
Anna's enthusiasm, experience and knowledge will provide you will all the hints and tips and capitalise on the festive season. The session is full of ideas, events, crafts, budgeting, and time management so you can tap into your entrepreneurial mindset and get a head start on your festive self-funding.
Responsible Tourism with ChildSafe & Positive Planet
This session is all about responsible travel – looking at what we’re doing as an organisation, what this will means for your expedition, and what you can do to become a more conscious traveller. During the event, we’ll also be joined by Mark Shepherd from Positive Planet, and James Sutherland from ChildSafe who will share their insights and knowledge about responsible tourism – from carbon footprints to child welfare.

This session is all about self-funding, budgeting, and how to manage your expedition expenses. During the event, we’ll also be joined by Anna Gibson from EasyFundraising who will share her insight and knowledge about managing your own online business.
