Although you will be expected to get hands on throughout the elephant conservation phase of the itinerary, there are no treks or excessively strenuous activities as part of the itinerary, resulting in a relatively low physical challenge rating.
Laos retains many traditions and qualities that have been lost in other South East Asian countries. The rural country remains untainted from mass tourism and so more of the traditional cultural values remain. Although a good proportion of your itinerary will be spent at the elephant conservation centre, you will still have time to embrace Laotian culture during your stay in Luang Prabang.
The environment in Laos is dominated by high year round temperatures and a monsoon season over the summer months. Although this can cause challenges in terms of transport and comfort when living amongst the jungle, heavy downpours are short lived and good amounts of sunshine generally prevail either side.
