Physical - 5
The itinerary is action packed including rafting, cycling and multi-day trekking excursions. Often the strenuous activities are planned to take place on consecutive days.
There is an emphasis on using human power to make your journey from place to place and through sometie, so be prepared for long journeys by foot, raft and bike. It's advisable to work on your fitness - especially cardiovascular - before you go, to ensure you're able to confidently take on the challenges that await you.
Cultural - 4
Thai’s are historically known for their welcoming and hospitable attitudes. You will immerse yourself in local culture throughout the itinerary as you journey from homestay to homestay, visiting a floating village, multiple hilltribes and a number of fascinating Buddhist temples.
Environmental - 4
Thailand maintains high temperatures year-round, with a wet season lasting throughout the summer and autumn months. Although a downpour could be expected each day, the resulting drop in humidity is pleasurable and makes for fantastic, clear views across the mountain ranges. Transport in the deep jungle can be affected by monsoon rains, as can rafting elements, some flexibility maybe required.
