We know there's a lot of information to take in as you start your Explore journey. To help, we've put together a list of our frequently
asked questions.
If your question is still unanswered then please don't hesitate to contact our Customer Support Team on 01248 672 760.
We provide two different payment methods for your Expedition/Explore programme:
- Monthly payments* – you can make monthly payments directly through the Basecamp Portal, via BACs transfer or by setting up a standing order
- Fixed payment – three set payments spread across the expedition build-up, which can be paid online or via BACs transfer
You can locate the payment schedule for your programme on this page under 'Downloads.'
After registering, you can also access it in your Basecamp Portal.
*Please note that at present, the monthly payment option cannot be selected through the Basecamp Portal. Kindly reach out to our Customer Support Team, and they will make the necessary adjustments to the payment schedule for you.
Included in your insurance with Outlook is cover for medical emergencies whilst in country. This includes any emergency treatment needed and repatriation if it is deemed medically necessary. It is vital that we are aware of ANY condition that may affect your health, wellbeing or safety whilst you are overseas, so you must complete the Medical Declaration form on your Basecamp portal. This will be used by our Planning team to complete the risk assessments for your itinerary.
For more information on what's covered by Outlook's insurance, and what's not, please visit the Insurance webpage.
Personal possessions, including passports and visas, are not covered by this policy. If your passport is lost or stolen while you are overseas, replacing it can be both time-consuming and costly. Our policy does not cover associated expenses such as document replacement and booking new flights.
Pre-departure cancellation is not covered by our insurance. We strongly recommend that you consider taking out a cancellation policy independently. It is essential to thoroughly review the policy documents and ensure they suit your needs before entering into any agreements. Any decisions regarding a claim against the policy will be determined by the claim handler, not Outlook Expeditions. All cancellations, regardless of the reason, are subject to our terms and conditions.
Our online 'Basecamp Portal' serves as the central hub for all essential information regarding your Expedition/Explore programme.
We'll keep you informed via email as your itinerary and preparations develop. Inside the portal, you'll discover a wealth of details such as the programme overview, event timelines, pre-departure tasks, FAQs, payment plans, and additional helpful resources.
As the programme progresses, you will be able to access the itinerary, kit list and flight schedules once they have been confirmed. The portal offers a comprehensive view of your adventure in one convenient place.
An integral part of the participant experience is the ability to self-fund either a portion or the entire programme cost. While there may be challenges, striving towards this financial goal offers valuable learning experiences.
We've been continually impressed by our teams' creativity and ingenuity in their ability to earn funds, whether through physical challenges or setting up small enterprises. Visit the 'Pay Your Way' section on our website for loads of ideas, motivation, and helpful resources.
To log into the Basecamp portal, you need the email address and password that you used during your registration process (one Participant and one Guardian email address will have been provided, and a password for each). If you have forgotten your password, please contact our Customer Support team on 01248 672760 and they will be able to reset it for you.
All withdrawals are processed in line with our booking terms and conditions. We recommend reading paragraphs 7 & 8 to understand the cancellation charges and how they affect you at the time of withdrawal.
Should you wish to withdraw, please notify us in writing by email to customer.service@outlookexpeditions.com
None of our Explore trips require Olympic standards but you will
need a good level of fitness to remain healthy and ensure you are fully
able to participate in all elements of the itinerary.
Each Explore itinerary has been given a rating for physical, cultural and environmental challenge. Go to the Know Your Destination section of the website to find out more.
